INFOGRAPHIC - Amelia-Earhart: 75 Years from Dis…

Design

Amelia Earhart, a noted American aviation pioneer, was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many other records as well. During an attempt to fly around the globe in 1937 in her Lockheed Model 10 Electra plane, Earhart disappeared on July 2nd over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career, and disappearance continues to this day. This infographic (published 2012) combines a hand-drawn, illustrative style with simple vector graphic elements, commemorates the 75-year anniversary of the disappearance of this great aviation pioneer. The infographic was well received on social media, blogs, and websites, finding its way to publication at the New York City Aviation official website.

INFOGRAPHIC - Red Bull SuperWoman

Design

This is the first in a series of infographics I created fo Red Bull USA, dealing with Lindsey Vonn's superhuman recovery from knee injury. The intent was to display how much work went into it (hours on the bike, hours of therapy, hours of sleep, squats, etc.) and also the timeline of her recovery compared to that of an average human and/or other notable figures. The client requested some kind of branded Lindsey Vonn imagery, so I created a detailed, representative, and serious-looking illustration of Lindsey in action, and built a story and design style around it, fulfilling their request and also covering the nature of her injuries in detail. Infographic attracted an enormous amount of attention, and got over 300 comments at Yahoo! Sports alone in the first 24 hours after its publication.

INFOGRAPHIC - Let's Beat Acne with NERD

Design

My client was a beauty science startup, working on updating their website and needing assistance to help customers understand their value. They wanted to visualize the info about their acne treatment products in comparison to their competitors. However, instead of talking about product benefits, they wanted to emphasize the good feelings and relief people experience after using the products. So, I created Jessica, an 18-year old track star with an acne problem. Using the approach of visual storytelling, I structured a plot in which the targeted audience would identify emotionally with Jessica and the difficulties she experiences. At the same time, the stages of her race became the phases in her acne treatment that lead her to glory. Once I had defined the story outline, a design wireframe was in order, suggesting a few main character options and other graphic elements that would define a modern 2D flat style. Finally, Jessica would be brought to life in a detailed design draft, leading to the creation of the infographic as an eye-catching piece of visual content. Additionally, micro-content was created while a blog post and social media statuses were created to increase the infographic’s viral potential.

INFOGRAPHIC - Storage Product Association - HDD…

Design

A client provided a massive amount of working materials, reports, statistics, and presentations and asked me to extract their most interesting messages, creating an engaging story. I presented the history of the hard disk drive in an interesting way through examples and comparisons to everyday things in order to explain abstract data to an ordinary user/reader. This process is called “data familiarization.”
